With a legacy of athletic excellence in his veins, Coach Brett brings a wealth of experience and passion to our triathlon team. Raised in a family steeped in competitive endurance sports, Brett has inherited a remarkable blend of talent, dedication, and a deep understanding of the triathlon world. His father was an Olympic cyclist representing Canada in 1992, and his mother set nine world records in open water swimming before embarking on a remarkable career as a professional triathlete, completing 24 Ironmans.
This exceptional family background has profoundly shaped Brett's approach to coaching and competition. Brett dabled in many sports growing up like cycling, triathlons and tennis but decided to swim at the University of Tampa, where he shone as an All-American swimmer, earning accolades such as Conference Scholar-Athlete of the Year and Swimmer of the Year. His prowess in the pool seamlessly translated to the triathlon realm, where he made an impactful debut by completing Ironman Florida (with the fastest overall swim time by a few minutes). His exceptional performance led to his recruitment by the Canadian National Team, specializing in draft-legal triathlons.
Since 2021, Coach Brett has been dedicated to training, racing, and coaching both online and in person. His experience with some of the best coaches and athletes in the world has helped improve both the mental and physical aspects of triathlon for his athletes. Brett is committed to guiding athletes through every stage of their journey, from novice to elite age groupers, with personalized coaching strategies.
Under Coach Brett's guidance, athletes can expect a training experience rooted in passion, expertise, and a genuine commitment to their success. His unique background and coaching philosophy ensure that every athlete has the opportunity to reach their full potential and achieve their goals.
